这些毒汁由伤口进入体内时，就会引起肌肉松弛、血液凝固、心脏跳动减缓，最后导致心跳停止而死亡。人们如果不小心吃了它，心脏也会麻痹，导致停止跳动。溅到眼里会失明。“见血封喉”，上次三亚植物园见过这个。

见血封喉又名箭毒木，为桑科见血封喉属植物，是世界上木本植物中最毒的一种树。这一属共有４种，生长在亚洲和非洲的热带地区，都含有剧毒的乳汁。我国只有见血封喉一种，见于云南的西双版纳、广西南部、广东西部和海南省等地。在我国，见血封喉现已被列为三级珍贵保护植物。
<>　　箭毒木的乳汁中含有弩箭子甙、见血封喉甙、铃兰毒甙、铃兰毒醇甙、伊夫草甙、马来欧甙等多种有毒物质。当这些毒汁由伤口进入人体时，就会引起肌肉松弛、血液凝固、心脏跳动减缓，最后导致心跳停止而死亡。人们如果不小心吃了它，心脏也会麻痹，以致停止跳动。如果该树乳汁溅至眼里，眼睛马上也会失明。人和动物若被涂有毒汁的利器刺伤即死，故叫“见血封喉”。 </P>
