<>常绿灌木或小乔木，高2～6m；树冠球形。干灰褐色，枝条近轮生，嫩枝绿色。单叶互生，有时在枝顶簇生，倒卵形或椭圆形，先端圆钝，基部楔形，全缘，边缘反卷，厚革质，表面浓绿有光泽。5月开花，花白色或淡黄色，有芳香，成顶生伞形花序。10月果熟，蒴果卵球形，有棱角，成熟时三瓣裂，露出鲜红色种子。</P>
