播种Worsleya procera纯属心血来潮，一是被其炒作为最珍惜的朱顶红品种而好奇；二是因其播种较困难而想挑战，至于其最终能否长成开花到没有奢望，只要能看到其“镰刀”般的叶子高高飘扬就足以。
心动不如行动，06年底就委托HK某大虾打探种子来源，终于在07年初在澳洲某处落实到货源，经过几番折腾，2月5日远渡重洋的种子到手了。

2007年2月5日收到来自澳洲的种子，Cosh\Cuppaidge两个母本。	种子品质很好，大小比一般朱顶红种子稍大一些，表面更显坚硬、有光泽，但有点失水。	2007年2月5日，当即补水。	2007年2月9日播种。	2月17日状况

2007年2月22日，20发16。	2007年2月24日，出真叶。	03.3状况	07.03.04，小苗长势很快，改用“金龙鱼”桶保湿了。	03.06，发现第二片子叶。 03.10，确认20发19，COSH牺牲了一棵。

3月23日。小苗又长大了不少。	3月23日。保湿措施解除。	4月14日状况	4月14日，种衣要剥落了。	4月21日，出第三片叶子。

5月7日，所有种子都出第三片叶子了。	5月26日，第四片叶子开始发出，第一片叶子枯萎。	6月23日。大部分小苗出第四片叶子。	6月23，有些球根的模样了。	7月19苗合影

7月7日，一苗出第五片叶子。	8月4日，基本出齐第五片叶子。	9月15日。第六片叶子早就出来了。	2008.1.20，将近一年的植株，球根大约直径1CM，共出现过8片叶子。	2008.01.28，最近状态。由于今年冬季寒冷，小苗长势缓慢，缺乏光照，叶子狭长。

经过一年的种植，种子成活率达95%，成长状况良好。也积累了一些不成熟的经验，与大家分享：
1、种子的发芽率主要取决于其质量和新鲜程度，尤其提供种子的商家信誉不错，加之该品种的种子外皮比较厚实坚硬种子寿命较长，所以能否保证高发芽率的主要因素便与接下来的播种环节有关了。
2、播种介质选择：以前许多大虾播种时，为了模仿该品种的原生环境，费尽心血培植各种成分的介质，实际效果并不理想。经过实践，用细兰石为主播种效果就很好，甚至超过植金石为主的介质，其中加少许的蛇木、树皮、蛭石、珍珠岩也可以。这就应了HK那位大虾的话：“就把它当兰花种”。
3、播种后保温保湿便很快可以发芽，发芽后最重要的环节就是水分的控制，这是发芽后易失败的主要原因，个人以为略干为宜，具体需要见机行事，文字的确不好描述。
4、第二片叶子出现后便可以在浇水时加施很稀的肥料，个人在水中配“喜硕”溶液，一则有利壮根发叶，二是种子与该肥料同来自澳洲，可谓绝配。
5、如果两片叶子后小苗生长正常，则播种基本上就成功了。其后的养植就简单粗放的多，只需要重点应付高低温等极端气候便可。以后就静等“镰刀”一天天的长大，能否开花就不管了，大不了留给女儿当嫁妆。
